How to make walking a habit?

If you want to make walking every day for 30min less or more a habit, you should start small. For example if you choose a specific time everyday you go on a walk it is easier to make a daily habit. Begin with many only 10 - 20 min the first day and increase by each day when comfortable. A good tip is also to make the walk enjoyable, listen to music, or a good podcast, this will make the walk not feel like a task but a fun activity. Last tip is walk with purpose for example walk to your friend’s house, the store or explore your neighbourhood.

Overcoming your barries is also important. If you don’t have time or don’t feel like it, you can shorten your walks tough out the day. If you don’t want to go on a walk because it is raining you can for example try to think positive and how great you are going to feel after the walk, and put on your raincoat and go. If you think walking every day I boring it can maybe be helpful to bring a friend, then the walk is more of a chat session than a workout session.
